OUR STORY
A VISION BORN IN A FORGOTTEN COMMUNITY
In 2017, God placed a vision on the heart of Evans Shoaib to bring education to children living in a small Christian community near Jahanian, Pakistan.
For generations, families in this community had lived in poverty. Most parents worked in brick kilns, sanitation services, street cleaning, and other labor-intensive jobs. Because they had never received an education themselves, their opportunities were limited, and many struggled simply to provide daily food for their families. The children of the community faced the same reality.
Many spent their days helping their parents make bricks at kilns. Others sold small items in nearby cities or spent their time on the streets instead of in classrooms. Education was not part of their future because no Christian school existed in the area, and Christian children were often denied admission to local schools.
As Evans watched children grow up without opportunities, he became convinced that education was one of the greatest needs of the community.
Having seen members of his own family spend their lives working in brick kilns, he dreamed of a different future for the next generation—a future where children could learn, grow, read God’s Word for themselves, obtain meaningful employment, serve Christ faithfully, and become strong disciples who would impact their communities.
That vision became the foundation of what would later become The Hope Way Christian School.
A GOD-GIVEN PARTNERSHIP
In 2023, God connected Evans Shoaib with Teresa Robinson from the United States through Facebook. When Teresa heard about the educational crisis facing Christian children in the community and learned about the vision God had placed on Evans’ heart, she chose to stand alongside the mission.
Believing that every child deserves an opportunity to learn, Teresa became the primary supporter behind the establishment of the school.
During July and August of 2023, she provided the funding needed to purchase educational resources, classroom supplies, furniture, learning materials, uniforms, school bags, and other essential items required to launch the school.
What had existed only as a vision for several years was now becoming a reality. Without this partnership, The Hope Way Christian School would never have opened its doors.
THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL
On October 1, 2023, The Hope Way Christian School officially opened at: Building No. 7, Street No. 1, Sardar Town, Jahanian, Pakistan. The opening day was filled with excitement, prayer, and hope.
Families gathered together to celebrate a moment many had never imagined possible. A special prayer gathering was held, food was shared with the community, and parents enrolled their children with great joy. Many parents were overwhelmed with emotion because they believed their children were finally being given an opportunity they themselves had never received. Thirty-six children enrolled when the school first opened.
For the first time, children who had previously spent their days working, wandering, or sitting at home were walking into classrooms with books in their hands and hope in their hearts.
PROVIDING EDUCATION WITH DIGNITY
From the very beginning, the goal was not simply to open a school but to remove every barrier preventing children from receiving an education.
Students were provided with:
- Free admission
- Free school uniforms
- Free school bags
- Free books and educational materials
- Free learning support and classroom resources
Highly qualified teachers were brought in to teach the children. Some teachers traveled long distances every day, including journeys of more than 30 kilometers, simply because there were few qualified educators available within the community itself.
Together, the teachers, volunteers, Evans Shoaib, and his sister worked to create a learning environment where children could thrive.
A GROWING IMPACT
The response from the community exceeded all expectations. Within only five months, enrollment grew from 36 students to 79 students. By November 2024, The Hope Way Christian School was serving 104 children.
The impact of education quickly became visible throughout the community. Children who once spent their days making bricks, selling small items, or helping support struggling households were now learning to read, write, and dream about their futures. Parents began to believe that their children could achieve far more than previous generations. The school became a symbol of hope for an entire community.
LIVES BEING TRANSFORMED
Same
Same comes from a family facing severe financial hardship. His father finds occasional work cleaning private sewer systems, and some days there is no work available at all. When Same joined the school, he received the educational support and resources he needed to succeed. Today, he is one of the school’s highest-performing students and achieved first position in his examinations. He dreams of serving God’s Kingdom and helping improve the circumstances of his family.
Yeshua Nasir
Yeshua’s father works as a municipal sanitation worker, cleaning streets to support his family. Before joining the school, Yeshua often accompanied his father to work. As his education progressed, his father encouraged him to focus entirely on learning and building a brighter future. Yeshua also achieved first position in school examinations. His dream is to become a pastor and serve God and his community through ministry and leadership. When Yeshua was called onto the stage to receive recognition for his academic achievement, his father was overwhelmed with emotion and publicly expressed his gratitude for the opportunity his son had been given.
Dawood Mohsin
Dawood comes from a family supported by his father’s donkey-cart transportation work. Life is often uncertain, and income is never guaranteed. Despite these challenges, Dawood demonstrates remarkable determination and maturity for his age. He dreams of becoming a businessman and creating a better future for himself and his family.
WHEN THE FOUNDATION WAS TESTED
For more than two years, The Hope Way Christian School continued to grow and impact lives. While the school served children from some of the most vulnerable families in the community, much of the day-to-day operational support was being sustained through the personal income of Evans Shoaib, who worked a full-time job while helping manage the school. In April 2026, everything changed. Evans lost his job. Without that income, it became impossible to keep up with the growing financial responsibilities of the school. Teacher salaries became delayed. Electricity bills remained unpaid. Building rent could no longer be maintained. Eventually, the school was forced to leave its rented facility. Some valuable school resources and equipment were retained by the property owner to recover outstanding expenses. Teachers who had faithfully traveled long distances to serve the children could no longer continue because transportation costs had become too great without salaries. The classrooms that had once been filled with learning suddenly disappeared.
THE MISSION CONTINUES
Yet the story did not end there. Today, Evans Shoaib and his sister continue teaching children despite the loss of the original facility. The school now operates in far more difficult conditions than before. Without a proper building, children often study in an open area exposed to the intense summer heat of Southern Punjab, where temperatures frequently reach 45°C to 47°C. Because of these conditions, classes are often held during the evening hours. Even now, approximately 56 children continue their education through the efforts of those who refuse to give up on their future. The circumstances have changed. The need has not.
MORE THAN A SCHOOL
The Hope Way Christian School has never been only about classrooms, uniforms, books, or buildings. It began because one young man saw children growing up without opportunity and believed their future could be different. It became reality because Teresa Robinson chose to stand alongside that vision and invest in children she had never met, believing their lives mattered. And it continues today because every child sitting in a classroom represents a story that is still being written. Children like Same. Children like Yeshua Nasir. Children like Dawood Mohsin. These children are not statistics. They are future teachers, pastors, leaders, business owners, and parents. The story of The Hope Way Christian School is the story of a community that refuses to believe poverty should determine a child’s future. And as long as there are children willing to learn, the vision that began in 2017 remains alive.
